An Association of Technical Universities and Polytechnic Universities in Africa (ATUPA) Annual Conference that took place in Kenya attracted leaders and academics drawn from technical education institutions on the continent to map out the future of technical skills education on the continent.
The delegates included a strong presence of South African leaders in technical education, including representatives of Vaal University of Technology which is famous for its arts education department that produces visual artists of note, and the South African Roadies Association which skills South African youth in live events technology such as producing music festivals and concerts.
