The jazzman was successfully operated previously, but according to friends and family, he was back admitted to Sandton  MediClinic on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, as the tumor is back. His family and friends have turned to social media to ask for donations from the public to raise the R250 000 that is needed to cover the cost of the medical the procedure  he has to undergo to remove the tumor.

One of the people encouraging those who can assist to do so to save the muso’s life is soprano and arts activist Sibongile  Mngoma who is asking fellow creatives to contribute what they can to raise the much needed funds.

“If 500 people out of this group can spare R100. 00, we can raise R50 000.00. Please guys let’s assist. Musa is one of us. If I should find myself in a similar situation, I would pray that you will show up for me,” posted Mngoma on the Facebook page of  the collective Im4theArts, a registered  association of creatives formed in 2020 during the hard lock down. Mngoma is its leader.

Manzi is a formally trained jazz bassist who is also a recording artist and composer, who over the years has worked both on stage as well as on TV.
