Ntando back in the game with a new album
By Edward Tsumele
There is no doubt that when pop start Ntando came into the music scene in early 2000s, he disrupted the pop music scne in the country as he took a slice of the tightly fought for music market. But in recent years, it looks like music took a back seat in his life, as he has been quiet for some time now.
However those who have loved his sound will be excited to know that not only is he back in the game, but he has a new album that was released on September 1, and is doing well on the chat.
Born Ntando Bangani, but simply known as Ntando in music circles,he is a South African afro-pop soul singer and businessman
The successful singer is widely known in South Africa for his afrocentric style of music racking up several awards along the way. He even has albums that have now attained the coveted platinum sales. Ntando started music in 2005 His afro traditional sound and vocal technique made waves across the country and globally, sharing stages with the likes of Ringo Madlingozi. Ntando carries a heavy weight title of delivering 10 albums, with a number of awards under his belt from platinum selling album “Kwantu” which was released in 2006. Ntando then took a break from the record label scene to establish BornFire Records and define his path. The wealth of experience acquired during this break resulted in his star coming into alignment and the beginning of a new journey.
I had an opportunity this week to listen to two of the track off his new single release ahead of the release of the full album for Summer.
The two tracks are more traditionally inclined than pop, perhaps indicating the direction he would like to see his music moving in this new relaunch of his recording career after taking a break to focus on business, a recording lable as well as having interest in the hair business.
Released by Muthaland Entertainment the new album titled CAMAGU from Ntando carries these two new singles for summer set to warm the hearts of South Africans as well as those across the globe. The two songs are titled Happy Placeand Imali Zam featured on his freshly released album CAMAGU, which entered the Itunes chart at #4 on September 1, 2021.
