This choral ouitfit from Mpumalnga has been praised throughout the world since they best onto international stages, with New York Times says: “There is joy in the world.”
CNN also has nothing but praises to say about this hiome grown talent. “Soul-stirring performances”, and yet another praise from Bilboard is something to take note of as it described the choir as “Joy and energy every time”
Yesterday, Afrika Day, the infectious Ndlovu Youth Choir, joined in the Africa Day festivities with the release of their new music video for their lead single, ‘Afrika Hey’ alongside Sun-El Musician and Kenza . Watch Here. The single is taken from their latest album titled ‘Grateful’. Speaking on collaborating with Sun-EL, the choir said:
“There has been great synergy between us and Sun-El Musician; creating a song together was a natural progression of that relationship. ‘Afrika Hey’ celebrates the beauty of Africa and encourages people to be proud of the continent and share that pride wherever they may travel around the world. We live in such a beautiful country, and we all have a responsibility to share this with the world,” the choirsiad in a statement.
The ‘Afika Hey’ video showcases the spectacular beauty of Africa’s’ city of Gold, Johannesburg. The visuals feature ariel shots and scenes of the famous Joburg skyline and iconic landmarks like the Mandela Bridge. The director Bruce Patterson chose Neighbour Goods, Braamfontein as one as the perfect location to depict “Afrika Hey “ in visual form. In an exciting celebration of our vibrant continent the choir can be seen in the video decked out in their cool urban African attire gathered in song and dance , putting on a performance alongside superstar producer and DJ, Sun-EL Musician.
Fans and audiences in SA and around the world from the visuals can expect to experience Jozi, Africa and a lot of energy!
What’s next for NYC? The choir shared;
“We are very excited to have received numerous exciting local and international performance opportunities; since the pandemic we have already spread our wings locally and abroad. This is an exciting time for us but most importantly we aim to keep our feet on the ground. We will never forget where we come from and our dream is to continue inspiring young people,” they said.
