The popular annual art fair FNB Art Joburg which commenced on Friday September wrapped up in style on Sunday, September 4 at the Sandton Convention Centre.

When CITYLIFE/ARTS visited the fair on Sunday morning, fair visitors were already waiting at the entrance for the fair to open from as early as 10am.

When the doors eventually opened to allow visitors at 11am, several art collectors, art enthusiasts seemed to be excited as they filed on the last day of the fair. And it seems like people had been missing attend this fair in the physical since the disruptions of Covid-19.

And this year, just like in the previous years visitors to the fair came fashionably dressed, suggesting that they take the fair seriously as an important event on the arts calendar on the African continent.  This year the fair had a well balanced representation of contemporary art from the African continent as besides galleries from South Africa, there were also a good representation of art galleries representing contemporary artists from the rest of the continent.
