Poet Kwanele Nyembe wins National Slam Poetry Competition

Kwanele Nyembe has walked away with this Year’s Poetry Africa National Slam Poetry Competition Award and is now headed for a international poetry competition to represent South Africa.
“Congratulations to Kwanlele Nyhembe the winner of the 2022 Poetry Africa National Slam Poerty Competition Kwanele wins a cumulative prize of R22 000 and will represent South Africa at the 2023 World Slam Poetry Competition in Brazil next year,” said Ismael Mahomed the Director of Centre for the Creative Arts, the oragnisers of the event.
Poetry Africa is presented by the Centre for the Creative Arts at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. The 2022 Slam Poetry Competition was supported by the French Institute of South Africa and Total Energies.
