Country mourning the tragic death of talented rapper AKA

The country is mourning the death of a talented rapper AKA who together with his chef and former manager were killed at a Durban restaurant on Friday evening.

This tragic death in many ways reminds all of us that no one is safe in a country where violence is a big feature of life of our daily life, ever present and lingering. No one is safe, and not even a well-known celebrity rapper like AKA.

However as we mourn his tragic death, it is perhaps time also to acknowledge his contribution to popular music in the country as a rapper. He was at the top of the game and he was planning to release his next album that I am sure many of his fans has been waiting for.

While the family and his close friends must be allowed to mourn his demise in privacy, many questions remain unanswered about the nature of this country. While information is still sketchy about how this event happened, what is being said publicly is that two men walked to them at the restaurant, shot them and walked away. Just like that. However the most reasonable thing to do for his fans is to let the family and close friends mourn in peace for their loss of their beloved Kiernan Forbes who was killed along with his close friend, the chef and entrepreneur Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane.. May both of their souls rest in peace.
