Gauteng praise and worship lovers are set for a serious soul revival when two African gospel giants, Joyous Celebration and Zimpraise share a stage in Johannesburg.

The two successful gospel ensembles will be performing at The Rhema North Bible Church on June 8 as part of Afripraise Festival.
The festival will also feature Makabongwe, Ntokozo Mbambo, iconic Sipho Makhabane and Canaan Nyathi.

Following its successful debut in London last year, this innovative concert is set to lift up the moods of the people following a dramatic elections episode last week.

AfriPraise Festival is a gathering of gospel artists and groups from across Africa and the diaspora, who come together for a distinct African-inspired praise and worship celebration.

Both gospel groups have made waves in the gospel and music industries, and are set to lead the audience in an epic praise and worship experience on the same stage at the upcoming AfriPraise Festival.

Formed in 1994, Joyous Celebration is a multi-award-winning gospel group. Over the years the group has had a successful career releasing over 35 albums and received a string of accolades for their outstanding performance and sales.

Meanwhile, Zimpraise which is less popular in South Africa is a multi-award winning group founded in October of 2006.

Zimpraise has become an undeniable unifying force, bringing together Zimbabweans and people from all corners of Southern Africa, fostering a sense of unity and kinship within the global community.
From filling up a small 800-seater capacity in Harare, Zimpraise has grown exponentially each year and now hosts its annual events in stadiums and arenas in Zimbabwe, attracting an attendance of over 40,000.

After Johannesburg performance, AfriPraise Festival organisers take the event to Birmingham in England on August 4 2024 followed by the Australian leg of the tour.
CEO of AfriPraise Joseph Madziyire, said “We can’t wait to bring the African way of worship and praise to audiences worldwide.”

Tickets for the event are available at Webticket and Pick n Pay from R200.
