Participating artists are Themba Shabalala, Vanessa Tembane, Tebogo Moerane and Stephen Langa

Curated by Ivy Rihlampfu,  each artist has their own set of techniques for creating art.

“Various factors influence the creative process such as drawing from collective memory to create; using self as a mirror to create; subconsciously creating borrowing from the daily life experience and the creator submerging to reconstruct identity for self and beyond. These factors are everchanging and the inspiration to create borrows comes from diverse sources. To the ambassadors of the natural world, they allow us to glimpse the understanding of their creation, depending on how much they give us.’ Writes  Rhilampfu: in her curatorial note.

The exhibition attempts to examine and assess the various methods that young contemporaries use to create works of art and required techniques to create. It derives from self or a glance in the moment of creation the artist gives into pureness of the art creation. It’s within this atmosphere that the artist surrenders to the art making process and where new methodologies, personal growth and new ideas are known to incubate. Through this application we get a better understanding of how the art is made and the different phases the artist enters in order to give us art. It’s about boldness, control and intention taking its cause. Mark after mark the artwork takes a life of its own. We are given a front row seat by the creators as audience to engage
