By CityLife Arts Writer

The open Book Youth Festival this year has an interesting programme aimed at the young market promises to offer visitors an opportunity to explore different genres, discover new voices, and develop their own writing skills under the guidance of experienced professionals.

“Open Book Festival is pleased to announce that the programme for Youth Fest 2024 is now live and available for public viewing. We are proud to unveil this year’s line-up of events, and invite young readers and writers to join us for an enriching and inspiring experience.

The festival includes an impressive array of renowned authors, poets, and storytellers, who will lead captivating readings and interactive sessions. Scheduled to take place from 13-20 March, Youth Fest aims to spark creativity, foster a love for literature, and empower the next generation of storytellers. With a diverse range of offerings tailored to various age groups and interests, there is something for participants of all ages to enjoy. The programme is available for viewing on Open Book’s website, here. While many of the events are taking place at schools, and so don’t appear on the programme, there are still plenty of sessions open to the public,” the organisers said in a statement.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore different genres, discover new voices, and develop their own writing skills under the guidance of experienced professionals. In addition to author presentations, the festival will offer hands-on workshops covering a range of topics including creative writing, poetry, storytelling, and illustration. These interactive sessions are designed to ignite the imagination and empower young people to express themselves through the written word.

We believe in the transformative power of storytelling, and want to ensure that everyone who wants to take part in the festival has access to it. For this reason, all events are free to

attend; however, registration is required as some venues have limited capacity. To book a place, contact openbooktickets@gmail.com.

In addition, we are buying books by participating writers for donation purposes, so that wherever possible those attending events are able to leave with a book of their own. If you would like to contribute to this element of our work, please get in touch with Festival Coordinator Frankie Murrey.
