Gospel Icon Sipho Makhabane is bringing what arguably will rate as South Africa’s biggest gospel event of the year, so far.

Big Fish as he is affectionately known will bring a galaxy of gospel stars together on April 2 at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga for Pre-Easter Prayer & Gospel Festival.

The first big event since the outbreak of Corona virus, the event will start at 7pm on April 2 and end on April 3 at 6 am. Gospel lovers in Mpumalanga and surrounding areas are in for a spiritual revival treat according to Makhabane.

The Pre-Easter Prayer Session is staged in partnership with Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency and Big Fish Arts. The line-up is packed with the country’s best gospel stars who will be entertaining until the next day.

In the line-up will be Jabu Hlongwane, Mpumalanga Praise, Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors, Jumbo, Donny Ngwenyama, Shongwe and Khuphuka, Takkie Ndou, Sbu Noah, Thobekile, Ayanda Shange, Pastor Ncanda, Nduduzo Matse, Thokozane Khoza, Takesure, Qiniso Mabaso, Madoda Dee, Phindile Phoky, Steve Ngobeni, Pretty Mhlongo, Mxolisi Mbethe, Indumiso Gospel Group, Ernest Nkabinde, Omega Khunou, Sylvester, Muzi B and Abel M among others. According to Big Fish, Pre-Easter Prayer & Gospel Festival is staged to pray for a lot of things including road accident that happen during Easter, gender based violence, and for Covid-19 to end.

“Through prayer session and festival we want to pray for accidents that normally happen during Easter holidays. In doing so, I have invited colleagues of the industry to pray together for God’s intervention. But we are also going to pray for a lot of things that are happening in our country. We need to pray for our leaders to have strength to lead us, pray for killing of all human beings in country.

” “Since I’m working together with Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency, we want to encourage people from Mpumalanga and surrounding areas to come and explore the beautiful province. We are saying Vakashela iMpumalanga.” The seasoned gospel singer’s event is sponsored by MyBoet Transport that has organised transport for people who do not have cars.

Myboat Transport, which is one of the biggest transporting companies in Mpumalanga, will pick-up people from Prominent Centre in Nelspruit from 4pm and take them to Mbombela Stadium for free. The transport will do the same the next day transporting people from Mbombela from 6am and bring them back to Prominent Centre. “I decided to make the event a 6 to 6 because I want to accommodate people who use public transport. If we end the show at 12 how are they going to go back home? So the show will continue the whole night so that they can have fun until next day. I want to thank Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency, 1 Channel, Myboet Transport and Shoprite for supporting the event.” Tickets for the show are available at computicket and Shoprite for R120 and VIP R250.
