Illustrator, designer and visionary Masonwabe Ntloko collaborates yet again with rug company Airloom to drop another design

Eastern Cape born Eastern Cape born illustrator, designer and visionary Masonwabe Ntloko is dropping yet another phenomenal collaboration with rug retailer, Airloom on the 23rd September, making this range, his third collaboration with Airloom. Titled “ILIFA LETHU” , this collection is a limited edition.
The 2nd collection will be exhibited on Thursday the 22nd of September between 18h00 and 21h00 at 73 Juta St Braamfontein, Johannesburg, 2001. The show will be up for a week until the 29th of September.
“ILIFA LETHU” which directly translates to “our inheritance” in IsiXhosa, is inspired by Masonwabe’s love for his people’s rich cultural history, AmaXhosa. One of the aims of creating this work was to create an accessible body of work that is also rich in culture.
Inspired by his mother, Tabisa Ntloko, Masonwabe relays that “This is an open letter to my mother and all the loving mothers out there. This body of work is an embodiment of a mothers love.”
