A Legendary night of music has been put together by Lalomba Music which will witness versatile songstress Judith Sephuma and guitar virtuoso Selaelo Selota share the stage for the first time in many years at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace on Friday, March 25, 2022. This is going to be a reunion of two South African great artists whose stage art is infectious and whose history of working together dates back to many years when Selota produced Sephuma’s debut album, which was well received by the music loving public.
A Legendary Night is a concept where Judith Sephuma celebrates and honours South African artists that have been a part of her life, that impacted and added value to her career. The first one was with Brenda Mtambo at the same venue in February 2020. This is the second part of a Legendary Night where Judith will be sharing the stage with the most gifted singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer, Selaelo Selota. Selaelo has worked with Judith in a number of projects producing hits such as Enchanted
Gardens and A Cry, A smile, A Dance. “I have always wanted to do collaboration with Selaelo Selota. He is one of the most amazing and talented artist, producer and songwriter I have ever worked with. I just want to celebrate him for the wonderful things he has done for my career.
My career has honestly done great because of the foundation he laid. So it is only befitting to honour and celebrate him now.” says Judith Sephuma Selaelo Selota needs no introduction to the music scene, who will ever forget Thrrrr…Phaaa a song that made waves all around the country on radio and music festivals. Judith and Selaelo’s work relationship comes from far, from the days when they were both at University of Cape Town. Selaelo wrote nine songs on Sephuma’s Page 2 of 2 debut album A Cry, A Smile and a Dance which is one of Judith’s most memorable hits.
Selota also worked with Judith on her album Change is Here. “I am honoured to be invited to be part of Judith’s Legendary Nights. It’s more than 10 years since we last shared the stage with this talented queen and this is going to be a very special moment. More than anything, I am more excited about how the interpretation of the songs will be, since I wrote some of her defining sounds.
The audience can expect a concert that will surely go down as one of the best concert they have seen in a long time and I might just add a few new songs, who knows.” added Selaelo Selota This reunion of these great artists which is brought to you by Lalomba Music, SAMPRA and Emperors Palace, will be a night to remember and if you want to be part of this history in the making, get your tickets at Computicket now.
