The Crown Gospel Awards winners announced

As the sunset on the 14th Annual Crown Gospel Music Awards for 2021, Canaan Nyathi and Sibongukwanda “Jumbo” Nyangiwe took home the crown for the biggest categories of the Gospel awards.

Mzansi bestowed the Best Gospel Artist award to Gospel sensation Canaan Nyathi while Jumbo received a nod for Wena Nkosi Uyazi which earned him the Gospel Song of the year title through public votes.

The awards ceremony which aired on SABC2 on Sunday, 28 November 2021 was recorded mid November recognizing the best crop of the Gospel industry. South African stars showed up to honour their peers who bagged trophies for their glorious musical offering.

Hosted by the young Pastor, Khaya Mthethwa, 2021 Crown Gospel Music Awards stage came alive as the viewers were treated to performances by Dr Tumi, Tebogo Moloi, Mpume Mtshweni, Puleng March as well as Amadodana AseWesile. The song of the year performance included Ayanda Ntazi, Jumbo, Pastor Sebe alongside Xolly Mncwango.

Other winners included, Takie Ndou who garnered three wins for Best Gospel Song Writer, Gospel album and Best Gospel Engineer – Job Thako For Takie Ndou out of six nominations alongside Tebs Davids (You Are Faithful) for Classic Of All Times, Thobekile Mkhwanazi for Best Female Gospel Artist, Tshidi Chauke for Best Clap And Tap as well as Xolisa Kwinana for Best Worship Song.

“2021 has been a year filled with blessings, we made it through difficult times as the World Gospel Powerhouse. The 14th Installment exceeded our expectations as we were able to deliver a first class awards event despite covid-19 limitations. We would like to congratulate all the 2021 winners and the nominees that took part this year in the Crown Gospel Music Awards.
