It is a book written by a medical doctor multiple award winner, Dr Augusta Dorning, and Dr Sherly Zinn.
Dr Augusta used her medical experience and added the importance of a positive mind in a person’s healing as well as realization of your dreams.
On the other hand, Dr. Sherly who grew up in the Cape Flats and managed to extract herself against all odds, as we may know the difficulties of growing up in places that are drug and gangsterism infested like the Cape Flats, to become a Harvard graduate with a doctorate in education. Dr. Sherly served in many corporate boards in South Africa. But, her major contribution to the book The Power of Visualization was drawn from her pain and experience of losing her only son to a car accident and how she used the power of visualization to heal.
The spirituality approach to life seems to be growing bigger and appealing to society these days, basing it on the big t turn out at the book launch at Exclusive Books in Rosebank Mall on Tuesday 25 November 2025.The bookshop was full to the rafters and ran out of chairs. Some guests had to stand. May be the interest in spiritual books is also caused by the stress that society goes through, the pressure to eke out a living, social media pressure where everyone wants to be a ’celebrity’. What you do, what you eat, wear, who you are with, where you are, how fit you look, what clothes you are wearing, what car you driving and so forth and so on, is always shared on social media. The more likes you get, the better you feel, temporarily, though.
