Many among us particularly in the entertainment industry have had our paths cross hers over the years as a publicist for some of the hot entertainment acts working with quite a number of well known names in the industry, almost everyone who matters.
I am talking about hot short publicist Bonnie Meslane. She however is in a transformative journey right that may see her instead of promoting artistic talent as a behind the scenes publicity strategist for well known names in the industry, become the front of the scenes talent herself.
,Over the years Bonnie carefully built brands and connecting them with the public, such as vocalist Kelly Khumalo and TV-presenter-turned rap artist-cum amapiano exponent Boity, among others, now big brands in the entertainment industry.
Now she has turned full circle. Bonnie is pursuing her career at the front, holding the mike herself, instead of promoting others in front of the mike. And if everything goes according to her wishes, and you have a crucial role to play in her game changing game, by voting for her come Wednesday when she will have a chance to hold the mike and show what she is made of, with regards to radio material.

This is because the seasoned publicist, Meslane has been shortlisted for a coveted Umhlobo Wenene FM presenter job. The 31 year old from Mqanduli, Eastern Cape, has worked in the entertainment industry as a publicist, writer, content producer and art director for almost 10 years.
“My father called me telling me I had been shortlisted, ” he heard on the radio. I am elated. I prayed for this. I want this job…” commented an overjoyed Meslane.
Bonnie though is no stranger to radio, she had worked as a content contributor for Phumzile Zonke’s weekend show Abahlali Abangalali on Umhlobo Wenene back in 2013/2014. She also worked as a breakfast content producer for DJ Sbu on Massiv Metro.
“I have always loved radio, I love entertainment and I believe it is time to step onto the front and fulfill my dreams. I work behind the scenes in PR and I love being of service to people but this is also how I can impact people’s lives, through live interactions.”
Meslane is the founder and director of Azania Public – a PR company based in Johannesburg. She’s also the founder and senior editor of lifestyle magazine Nounouche.
“I would like to urge everyone to vote for me. Share with your friends, your aunts and uncles, let’s bring it home.”
Catch her this week 23 February 2022 Wednesday from 15:00 pm -18:00pm as she will be co-hosting alongside Amaza Ntshanga on the popular drive time show Masigoduke.
CITYLIFE/ARTS would like to wish Bonnie and the rest of the finalists the best of luck in their new potentially transformative journey.
