Zooming in on life in the City: A photo essay

In the past few years I have spent time documenting the city, looking at the harsh realities faced by the people who live in the city each and every day. Some of these people live on the pavements, setting up stands to trade in whatever they can. Main aim being to make ends meet. To some, the city has become the place they call home. This is where they feel comfortable to do anything oblivious of the by-laws. At times, they throw away objects anywhere. Those objects become the city’s landscape. Text Madoda Mkhobeni
