And we all need to start a new year on a clean slate given the trauma of the coronavirus that has seen people close to a lot of us fall sick and some even  die from the covid-19 pandemic. We could all do with some laughter after all.

Many however will be looking forward to see how our own Mbatha fares with some of the best entertainers in the game in her first major international production to feature in.

Set in the lush and royal country of Zamunda, newly-crowned King Akeem (Eddie Murphy) and his trusted confidante Semmi (Arsenio Hall) embark on an all-new hilarious adventure that has them traversing the globe from their great African nation to the borough of Queens, New York – where it all began.

Well this is a story that promises to connect with many of us on this part of the world and many of us cannot wait to see what is in store. We will only know what is in store then, but for now CITYLIFE/ARTS gives you a sneak preview of the goings on onset through these images that we received this week.
