Police nab two suspects in connection with Ndebele artist Etsher Mahlangu’s robbery incident

When it happened last month, it is a crime that shocked the world,not only because the person robbed and physically is a revered artist, celebrated globally, but was also because the act was  brutal and cruel. The attack last month of Ndebele artist Esther Mahlangu aged 87, left her bruised on her face, and her licensed gun and some money stolen.

Mpumalanga police last night reported the arrest of two suspects, one of whom was found with the gun that was reportedly stolen from Mahangu’s house where an undisclosed amount of money was also stolen. Mahlangu’s home is in Siyabuswa, Mpumalanga. Mpumalanga Premier visited the elderly artist’s home last night after the news of the arrest broke out. The suspects aged 32 and 37, according to Police spokesperson  Brigadier Selvy Mohlala will appear in Court on Friday, April 8, 2022.
