Without a doubt the Miss South Africa pageant has grown in both stature and the value of the prizes at stake, and as a result the quality of entries has improved as well.
Gone are the days when the only considerations, If not, at least the major one, was the looks. But now more is required and expected from the participants. Besides the looks, which in any case are God-given, they are expected to be smart as well, and this smartness comes in many forms, for example answering the judges’ questions intelligently. And doing so these days requires that one is well read, and hence almost all the 10 finalists have some form of tertiary education, and in fact a good number of them boast really good education behind their names.
And so it is almost given that the one that will walk away with this major prize come August 13, 2022, will be a smart girl with good education behind her name.
This no wonder why the fight for this title has increasingly become fierce, and after all the prizes are great. The organisers have unveiled the Miss South Africa 2022 residence, the home where she will be based for the whole year during her reign, and indeed this is a residence suitable for a Queen. And it does not come cheap.
When Miss South Africa 2022 is crowned in Pretoria on August 13, 2022, she will move into a luxurious Penthouse apartment worth R10.5million, in the sought-after Ellipse development in Waterfall City.
The new title holder will win a fabulous package of prizes worth more than R3-million, including the use of a fully furnished and serviced apartment at the lavish Ellipse Waterfall for the year of her reign.
Ellipse Waterfall – developed by Tricolt and Attacq – is a new, iconic high-rise apartment development in the heart of Waterfall City, spread across four gleaming, glass- fronted towers, namely Galileo, Cassini, Newton and Kepler. Featuring breathtaking architectural design, each striking apartment boasts ultra-indulgent modern finishes, eco- friendly features, airy interiors and floor to ceiling windows that offer unparalleled views of the Gauteng skyline. Residents have exclusive access to The Luna Club, which offers a host of wellness, business and leisure options.
Designed by distinguished multidisciplinary design studio, dhk Architects, the elegant form of the Ellipse Waterfall towers, developed by Tricolt and Attacq, will deliver a highly recognisable landmark in the heart of Waterfall City.
Tricolt’s CEO, Tim Kloek says, “Tricolt is always pushing the boundaries in terms of luxury design and world class amenities and our Ellipse development is a prime example. This award-winning development offers a luxurious lifestyle from R1.6million and we are excited to launch our final Ellipse tower in October 2022.”
In preparation for the new Miss South Africa, who will be crowned on August 13, the Ellipse Waterfall apartment has been fully furnished by Superbalist.com with homeware by Woolworths. Galaxy Blinds has provided all the blinds and curtains.
The Miss South Africa pageant, which takes place at Sun International’s flagship venue, the SunBet Arena at Time Square, Pretoria, promises to be a spectacular and entertainment- packed show and takes place during Women’s Month.
