Pan African exhibition Reconceptualisation to be launched at Jeleni and Phindi Rooftop Gallery in Randburg

A Pan African exhibition that sees a number of South African artists and those from the rest of the continent come together to create narratives about the human condition as they see it in their various environments is scheduled to open on at a Randburg Gallery on September 4, 2024.

Nhaka Gallery presents Reconceptualisation, a visionary exhibition reconceiving African Contemporary Art.  Nhaka Gallery from Harare is thrilled to announce RECONCEPTUALISATION, a ground-breaking art exhibition set to challenge and elevate the global perception of African Contemporary Art. Scheduled to open on the 4th of September, 2024, this visionary exhibition will be held at the Jeleni and Phindi Rooftop Gallery, located at Cnr Pretoria &Sentrum Ave, Ferndale, Johannesburg, 2194,” add the organisers.

“Reconceptualisation continues under the overarching theme of Africa but introduces a fresh conceptualization, spotlighting the transformative power and impact of African art. This exhibition will feature the works of renowned artists including Anusa Salanji, Edsor Colaco Meque, Webster Mubaireni, Tendayi Shonhiwa, Lilian Magodi, Yana Kunaka, Kimberly Gakanje, James Jali, Julius Nyamubaya, Keith Zenda, and Richard Witikani, Slovo Mamphaga and Walter Fumani Maluleke African art has long been a cornerstone of global artistic expression, offering profound insights into the continent’s rich cultural heritage and contemporary innovations.

It serves as a powerful medium through which African artists convey their unique perspectives, challenges, and triumphs.
